American Parkinson Disease Association and IMD Health Announce Partnership to Improve Quality of Patient Education
August 23, 2022 – Toronto, Ontario
IMD Health Global is pleased to announce an important new partnership with the American Parkinson Disease Association (APDA). This partnership will be invaluable to helping IMD Health in their commitment to providing easily accessible, up-to-date digital health education to healthcare providers, patients and their families on the IMD platform.
“An integral part of our mission at the American Parkinson Disease Association is to provide the support and education to help everyone impacted by Parkinson’s disease live life to the fullest. Our partnership with IMD Health will help us do just that — we will be able to reach so many people who desperately need reliable information about all aspects of Parkinson’s.” said Leslie A. Chambers, President & CEO, of American Parkinson Disease Association. “The information we provide can help educate and empower them along their Parkinson’s journey.”
IMD’s health education platform is one of the largest in North America, offering healthcare providers and patients instant access to graphics, videos, and other educational resources spanning 6,000+ health topics. These resources facilitate meaningful dialogue between healthcare professionals and patients inside the examination room, at hospital bedsides and pharmacies, and during virtual consultations.
“We are very excited to be collaborating with the American Parkinson Disease Association in order to provide our clinicians, patients and their families with trusted information on Parkinson’s disease” said Alice Haidau, Medical Content Manager, IMD, citing the need for inclusive, evidence-based health information, particularly given the shift toward digital tools incited by the pandemic, and internet use which often leads to misinformation.
APDA’s resources are now freely available on IMD Health. This means that IMD’s established healthcare provider network can send patients home with resource packages containing trusted APDA information on disease understanding, condition management, nutrition, dealing with pregnancy and parenting, maintaining healthy relationships and sexual health, handling the disease outside of the home, the benefits of exercise, clinical trials, mental health for people with Parkinson’s, as well as coping and support for care partners. Most publications are available in both English and Spanish, as well as a handbook in Simplified Chinese.

IMD Health Global is a Toronto-based eHealth software development company, focused on innovating healthcare education.
